Alt pulley swap?
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:54:53 AM »
I just picked up a 130amp alt from Grand rebuilders from ebay. (Awesome folks).

Anyways, it has a slightly larger dia pulley on it than my stock 2.5 alt. Should i swap them, or just leave it?
It seems about 0.15" larger or so.

Swap them, it's not hard to do.

The smaller pulley will spin faster and up the alternators output at a given RPM.  They're easy to swap.

If the rib count is the same, it's not that you 'have' to swap, it's still optional.

Thanks for the replys. Its a diff rib count also.
I figured i would get more output from the alt from switching, but not sure if the alt would be happy with that.

I will switch it. :)
