Which top hardware i got?
« on: March 28, 2010, 03:16:52 PM »
Which top hardware i got? Since ive had this jeep, the top just never seemed to be on correctly. The hardware seems to be a mix of different kinds maybe? Or just not installed right?
Anyone have any thoughts on what they see?

It had a bestop on it when i got it. And the rear side widows are pretty much destroyed by that angled bar (the one closest forward) rubbing on them.

You mean soft top?  That's an OEM soft top which was made by Bestop.  Those 'angled bars' aren't on right.  They need to be pushed to the ends so they stand almost straight up.  You should notice notches in the rail where the bars ride.  They should drop into slots when they are in the right position.  The 'middle' bar is supposed to be attached to the support for the door surround.  It looks like it's just floating in the middle

Judging by the seat pattern that's a '92 YJ with a TJ roll bar.

This might help a little.  http://4bangerjp.com/forums/index.php/topic,570.html

Here's what it should look like when assembled.

Not normally but a lot of Dealers liquidated stock and some companies buy that all up.

http://www.jeepsareus.com  Some stuff isn't cheap though.  Quadratec also has some parts as well.

I believe this is a complete OEM frame for $250.  http://www.quadratec.com/products/11033_100_07.htm

The forward-most hoop with the pad across the top should be slid forward at the base so it's against the back of the upright directly behind the door opening.  These two uprights are supposed to be riveted together and 1-piece.

Should look more like this:
