So everyone on here understands that ourr jeeps just arent fast. Maybe you understand then how easy it is to get carried away when you finally get behind the wheel of something fast, such as a bmw z3. I was driving my friends z3 on monday down a state highway thats a 70mph zone, and i got clocked at 123mph.  :asshat: The thing i didnt realize was that you could get arrested for going that fast, so i of course did get arrested and ended up spending about 3 hours in jail and now i got a recless driving charge and a ticket for 53 over the speed limit. FML

i didn't know you can get arrested for that either - probably a loophole that the cop used to teach you a lesson - but at 120mph you could consider it dangerous driving. How much was the ticket?

In some states it's a Felony to do over 100MPH in which case they arrest on the spot.

I thought this was going to be about someone getting a speeding ticket in their 4 banger.  :roflol:  My gf's mom has a Z4 and I drove it, but I wasn't a big fan. I'm not too keen on squeezing my 6'3" 250lb frame into a small car like that. My gf's mom thinks she is cool though. I didn't know women had mid life crisis'?

something similar, I took my old supervisor for a ride in my old 91 escort gt (he kept saying it wasnt fast)hit on ramp onto I-5 south(portland OR) and let her go, didnt see a cop shooting radar and was pulled over a few exits down, cop said " I clocked you at 121 and excelerating, and I have never seen an escort accelerate like that" . Wrote me for 80 in a 65 which was cool, didnt lose too many coins, but I can relate everytime I get behind the wheel of a beemer I do the same thing

When I was in Miami, I also got clocked twice; both times, I was driving the wife's car (a Hyundai Sonata; nothing as fance as a Z4, but still, compared to the Jeep, I could not feel how fast I was going).

im almost embarassed to say it but anytime i drive ANYTHING other than my jeep i usually gaze down to the speedo and realize im clear over the limit. This most often happens in my girlfriend's Outback Wagon-the things not even that fast or powerful. The lack of rattles, shaking and loud engine noise throws me off i guess lol. On that subject, ive often continued to try and start her car even when it was already on due to the fact that i couldnt hear the damn engine lol.

When I was in college, me an my friend were both on race bikes (Yamaha FZR600 and Honda CBR600), and we were coming out of watching pulp fiction (that should tell you how long ago this was!) after a trip to the MBNA bank on the evening.  Needless to say, there were no cars out on the road at 2AM, so when we pulle at the first red light, we decided to have a little race...  I never did check what speed we were going, but we were really gunning the things.

He pulled ahead of me, and all of the sudden, I see him SLAM on the brakes.  Not knowing what was going on, I did the same only to see a cop car pulling out of the Royal farms (local 7-11).  He never did get us on the rader, so we were written on "over the speed limit".  I'm sure we were at least 120 in a 40...  Of course, since neither of us had bike license, the tickets ended up being expensive (and that's not counting the tow truck to take the bikes back home!).
