So everyone on here understands that ourr jeeps just arent fast. Maybe you understand then how easy it is to get carried away when you finally get behind the wheel of something fast, such as a bmw z3. I was driving my friends z3 on monday down a state highway thats a 70mph zone, and i got clocked at 123mph.  The thing i didnt realize was that you could get arrested for going that fast, so i of course did get arrested and ended up spending about 3 hours in jail and now i got a recless driving charge and a ticket for 53 over the speed limit. FML

Bummer.  I'm ready to get rid my Saturn Aura because I have a bad habbit of doing 105 on the way home.  With my Jeep, I can't go over 70 and it has no payments.  I blew the doors of a Civic rice grinding down the road the other day; with 205 hp stock, it's a sleeper for a 4 dr.

I can't remember exactly but here in NC it's either 10 over or 15 over that is considered reckless driving. However, I am positive they can arrest you for that (almost got it once myself.) So, put this in perspective -- you're doing 85mph in a 70mph zone on the interstate. Technically they can arrest you for that. The street racing charge is even worse; the line that separates normal driving from street racing can be quite non-existent here.

I'll tell you guys a little story. Back in the day when I had my '89 240SX with the SR20DET swap, one night I was cruising down I-77 through Charlotte at 3am following a friend, who also had a modded 240SX. We were kinda rolling next to each other, not racing or anything, and we were both doing the speed limit. A cop appeared behind us, popped the noise and the cherries, and pulled my friend over. He arrested my friend on the spot for street racing. When my friend asked the officer how he could even consider that we were street racing when we were clearly doing the speed limit and not driving aggressively, the answer given was that we were both driving modified cars next to each other, so it looked like we were trying to drag. He lost his license for a year and his car was confiscated. He tried to appeal and the courts denied the claim. I even went with him to support his appeal but the courts wouldn't even hear his case; they denied the appeal pretty much as soon as we were able to approach the bench. He never got his car back. And we were doing absolutely nothing wrong; just driving next to each other. This is how careful you have to be here. The police here do not bo-yah! around. They will charge you with whatever they can give probable cause.

I have to be extra careful when I'm driving my Corolla. That's not a fast car by any means but it can easily do 110 if you're not paying attention.

not even close. M3 has a limiter at either 155 or 165 depending on year made.

on another note, been pulled over driving dad's 535 beemer at 127 and the cop asked why and i told him it was first spin out in the car and didn't even realize i was doing over 40 cuz of how smooth it was.

been pulled over in mom's impala for doing 90 on a 40mph backroad that is too technical to really even attempt at anything over 75. cop was surprised i was still keeping it in control and it was during the dead part of the day while everyone was at work so he let me off.

me and my buddy were taking his 97 camaro out for a spin. background on the camaro, 454ci blown supercharger, custom crank, cams, twin holley 4bbl 1250 cfm race carbs, custom exhaust, cherrybomb glasspack mufflers with a y pipe right before the cats that turn the exhaust to straight pipe with the flick of a switch and a 250 shot of Nitrous. and 14" wide tires in rear. dyno says 1013hp and 1329 lb-ft.

we were driving down one of the highways here, and it's long straight and flat with no potholes. i'm sure you can see where this is going  along this one section there's not a single spot for a cop to sit, or so we thought...we are tearing along and see a cop car sitting just past an on ramp with our speedometer reading over 200. i told my friend to just pull over, cuz it's not worth trying to outrun a radio. we pulled over and about a minute later the cop finally caught up with us and first thing he says is "thank you for pulling over, now what the bo-yah! do you have in that engine bay that you were doing 200 with?" we ended up getting out and showing the cop everything and i swear he looked like a kid meeting the real santa or something. my buddy did 3 weeks for it tho, i got to walk home
