And yet again...
« on: May 17, 2010, 07:25:56 PM »
The shipment date on my MT/R's has been pushed back for the 4th time...

Anywhere from the 30th to the 5th...

And who knows... They will probably get pushed back again!

The guy at 4WP said to call next week and see if they change the date again. If they do, I'm going to have them get something different for me. It's been almost a month at this point, and when I ordered them they weren't supposed to be backordered anyway.

This is what I'm rolling on now...

Left rear

Right rear

Right front

Left front

I'm worried about getting pulled over and getting a fix-it ticket for them, or getting in an accident, etc. All 4 are cracked, are out of round/balance, etc. They were old and beat when they were given to me, that was almost a year ago.  I'm considering going with something else, I realize I might be a little heated over something as simple as 4 pieces of rubber but $1100 was a lot of dough for me to spend on something and I don't think I should have to wait...  :stick:

Where do you wheel that you want MT/R's?  I'd cancel the order and get KM2's

Are KM2's still on a national backlog?

Where won't I go that I will need them?  :blbl:

I'm not sure if KM2's are still on national backorder or not. I'm going to stop by tomorrow and see what my other options might be, so I'll have to ask

I agree.
I was just over on JF and a guy from the Sacramento area ordered some from Sam's Club 5 weeks ago and when he called today he was told they're still 5-6 weeks out. So I'd be waiting for either. Price wise the KM2's aren't any cheaper, maybe $50-75 different.

Hell, anything's going to work better then those slick.

Tough call.  Maybe look on CL for some short-term tires?

Something's telling me that you'd see Lincoln's head on the penny with those.

Actually, "penny" Lincoln could have a top-hat on.  Even then, your tread still wouldn't get in the way!

For the left coast I would pick an MTR anytime over a KM2 Those MTR's take a heck of a lot more sidewall abuse. that or get a darn good tire replacement waranty

How much is 4WP charging you for tires, everytime I have priced them they have been way more expensive then everybody else.  I have been using discount tire for my last 5 sets and they have beat out everybody elses price.  Another tire you might look at is the Cooper  Discover STT, my buddy has those in 35's on his titan and uses that truck on the jobsite all day long.  So far they have been wearing pretty good and do well offroad

or im running the Hankook Dynapro MT on my truck its a 3/4 ton silverado and i have about 15k and mine are holding up well also, I have had no problems in the mud and driving through 2' snow drifts I could really feel them pulling the truck through

Not sure what size you are looking for, but summit racing is showing some MTR sizes in stock

I've seen the Hankook's before and they look like a pretty good tire. My buddy made comment about them yesterday too. I paid $1094 for the MT/R's through 4WP, they were like $214/tire. As for the STT's, they were an option I considered but I know a few people who only got 20-25K out of them, so I'm sort of worried about the mileage since I easily put that many miles on my Jeep in a year. I didn't get the chance to run in to 4WP today and see what my options were, I got busy cutting weeds for 10 hours  :bore:

Oldjeep- I ordered 35's, and Summit is showing an estimated shipping date of the 24th http://www.summitracing.com/search/Tire-Size/35-x-12-50-15/?keyword=mt+r So I guess I'll have to mention that to 4WP when I head in tomorrow

+1

Not a goodyear fan  I call them "good for a year" tires

can't get interco's? some ssr's or something if those two tires are back ordered?

The old MT/R's didn't last very long on the road, and I doubt the new ones are much different.  Over-rated and over-priced IMO.

BFG's older MT's last a LONG time on the road, the KM2 is prolly similar.  I'd bank on what I've seen from each manufacturer.

Hmm, my old MT/R's have lasted a pretty long time.  I have close to 40K miles on them.
