Before I had the boomerangs up front I inverted the pass side shackle against the frame a few times, so the spring has been fatigued there for a while now.
The springs are going in to their 4th year, and they're Rough Country. So the warranty is long over and I wouldn't want another set anyway...

Steering seemed a bit funky which is why I decided to look. Thought maybe a ball joint or TRE failed and was popping. When I saw how off the shackle angle was, that's when I finally picked up on the break. The tires rub regardless so thats why the metal is bare.

I ordered a set of RE 4" springs yesterday, and they'll be here today when I'm off work
Got both sides plus bushing kit for $200 through a friend of a friend

Thinking spring over is in the near future (not that I ever go wheeling but I still want it), these will do just fine for now

You do know the RE standard leafs are the same as Pro-Comp's 4" leafs?

Mmhmm, I remembered that. Pro Comp wasn't any cheaper really, at least at this guys price. Maybe it's what he ordered me then?

Either way, it sits a lot better now, rides better, and is definitely safer. I hadn't really realized how much the Rough Country springs were sagging! The front end sits noticeably higher and my 35's fit much better now
Actually, it sits so much better now that I thought I put my shackles on backwards because the angle was so much different than before  :pirate:

Old bushings were virtually grease-less so I imagine that's what helped the most. The new leafs are also a 5 pack vs a 4 pack like the RC's so maybe the spring rate is different as well...

They sure did a crappy, half-assed job of painting these things though.
