I assumed his was electric ?

thats insane  if they price it out that high for a clutch fan

i dont have a mechanical fan. its a 2 speed electric fan that im starting to get the feeling like mine was the only one made and thats why the replacement sitting on the self at the deal is 579 dollars.

i looked at '03, '04 and '05 and couldn't find an electric fan option that's why i thought it's the clutch.

what's the part number on the fan? is it Chrysler labelled?

that one i cannot find, weird thing is i can find OEM replacements online for XJ, JK, Liberty but not for TJ so I'm out of suggestions

for example here's the Liberty '02-'07 2.4L oem p/n 55037659AA http://www.omix-ada.com/jeep-parts/productInfo.asp?itemNo=55037659AA
or the XJ oem p/n 52028337AC http://www.omix-ada.com/jeep-parts/productInfo.asp?itemNo=52028337AC
JK direct fit replacement (oem p/n: 55056642AB) http://www.drivewire.com/search/?Ntt=RB620055 or here http://www.car-stuff.com/2009jeepwranglerradiatorfan.htm

but those are different (not suggesting you should use as a replacement) - the TJ seems to be a dealer only item, i couldn't find 55036797ab in any cross reference catalogs

the parts place here said they would need a vin number to have any chance. other then that it comes up as clutch fan like sharp said. other then the liberty?

Check out wrecking yards. I looked at one on an '04 that was a rear end total with 10k on it. I thought about using that for the efan conversion but went another direction. They only wanted $50 for it. I found them on car-part.com as well.
No matter where you're going, there you are.
