97 TJ fuel cell question
« on: November 27, 2010, 04:32:34 PM »
Ok I've got a 97 TJ my plans are stretch the rear axle back 5".  So I need to replace the fuel tank and there is no way I'm gonna spend $1000 to do that. I just want to buy a fuel cell and pump. But what pump should I buy to get the correct fuel pressure?

If you don't have a back seat and want more fuel there is a 30x12x12 that's 19Gallons.

I think there are a few guy's on Pirate4x4 who make different TJ rings.

What makes the TJ setup special? Seems like its cheaper to buy another pump and just use through fitting mounts.
Is the TJ fuel pressure same as a YJ?

That's what I'd do.  No need for the stupid all-in-one sender.

I believe RCI has a solid state fuel guage thats adjustable as well.
Just goes through a vent bug in the tank.

Yup, comes with one but the sender won't work with the Jeeps.  You'd need a new sender or gauge.

It would be pretty simple to add an inline FPR though.  You would also need to add a fuel filter IIRC.

yep, that should be simple if you go with a custom thank, you need a return back in the tank that's all.
