Putting the new seats in today

  Taking my time cause I'm also going to put in some stuff called boom mat.  Should help deaden the noise and insulate the cab.  Still waiting on the new carpet to arrive.  Will get some photo's when I have that in.

Some cheap ones off of E-bay.  May have a problem as they are a little longer and wider than stock.  Center Console will not fit back in and with the front longer I do not feel comfortable reaching for the Pedals.  Also I have to slide the seat back each time just to get out, legs are real close to the steering wheel.

  I have a couple of other seats in the garage one I was going to use in my VW and one I bought for the VW but they were to wide.  Those have all the adjustments to include lumbar support so they will be the 1st ones I try.

You can usually adjust the seats a little by drilling new mount holes or making adapter brackets.  I don't use the sliders which allows me even more flexibility.  It also lowered the seat an inch which helped since my seats have a lot of padding in the front.  This made getting in and out a PITA.  My console is huge and I ended up moving my seats outboard an inch to allow a bit more room.  IIRC my seats are 22" wide and thw stock seats are 20".

I'd like to add the sliders back in for a bit more flexibility so I might get some Corbeau mounts which I think are lower then stock.

Pictures as soon as I finish some of it up.  Now have the dash torn out changing the color and cleaning all the grime that has built up on the back side since 94.  Redoing the stereo also so wires are everywhere.

I will let you know on the Corbeau mounts just ordered them.  I took the spacers completly out that is between the seat and sliders.  Now the sliders will not lock.  Will put the spacers back in till I get the new mount.

did the same with mine and had to mod something there to get them to work, been a long time and can't remember what it was though, something with the lever (i think i had to bend it down as the bottom of the seat was pressing on it and that's why the locks were not going into the grooves in the rails). With the spacers they were too high up.

For now I'll just put the spacers back as it really did not gain me that much.  I got the new mounts ordered.  Even if they do not lower it they look to be easier to modify than the stock ones.

The new Corbeau mounts are right at 2" shorter than stock.  I just got them in and stoped long enough to measure them.  Now to finish the job.  One little problem is you will need bolts to replace the two that are part of the old mount as the new ones do not come with them.

Hmm, 2 inches huh?  Good to know!  I need to put them on my list of things to get for sure.
