Topic: Need help with a couple of issues

OK, first thing first...  The Jeep is still running good (it is still acting up a bit after I shut down, let it cool for a bit, and then fire it up again and accelerate under load, but once it warms back up, it runs just fine), but I need your help with the following:

1. I got tired of the blue bulbs in the Jeep, and found among my things a set of brand new OSRAM Night Breakers (yes, these also have a blue tint, but not where most of the light will be generated).  From what I have found online, these are among the best bulbs at putting usable light out in front of the vehicle without blinding oncoming traffic, so I figured I'd give them a try (I bought these a while back while in Costa Rica, but never installed them).  My question is, how the heck do I get the H4 bulbs out of the lamp?  I have aftermarket headlights, by the way (mine are not sealed beam).

2. Yesterday, while coming back to the Jeep after a basketball game, I saw two cockroaches scurrying about in my Jeep.  I guess that's what I get for letting my kids eat in the Jeep...  Anyway, what is the best way to get rid of them?  traps?  Spray the interior?  I know this is not your typical "how-to" question for this forum, but I still need to get rid of this issue...

For question 2, I recommend cats.  Natural and chemical free solution.

Otherwise traps would be better to avoid the chemicals sprayed everywhere.

For #1, the issue I have is removing the rubber protector; I'll figure it out tomorrow....

For #2, I did a deep cleaning of the interior, and I will set traps next week, when it will sit in the garage for a week or so after my wife gets her car back from the shop (and, as a direct result, I get my daily driver back!)

For the bulbs, there a rubber boot.  Take that off The plug can come off as well.  Then there is a wire bracket.  Pinch the ends together and lift.  The bulb should come out.

I thought you didn't have carpet?  The only place they could be living is in the seats.

  #1 just pull that's it.  Way harder to get it back on right.

I took the carpet out, but put a new one back in...  I took it off to clean it, though, and there was some food under the rear seats (around the seatbelts).

try to rotate it so it will break the bond (to avoid tearing it if you pull). you could get a 1/8 steel rod and bend it, slide under the boot in one spot and then work your way around the housing to "unglue".
