howdy after some contacting on YouTube. I was able to join. I'm from Michigan. I recently traded a Kawasaki klr250 for a 99 tj with a blown 2.5. I swapped in a used motor and decided I wanted to try my hand turbochargering. I know the ob2 route takes some work. my hopes are to use the psc1-002 with a swapped hi fuel rail and return line. I will tune with a wideband. I have currently sourced mhi 13g Turbo and 30# injectors.

The name is Trevor and live on the East coast of Florida.  I've owned a few Jeeps in my days.  Now I own a '01 TJ 2.5L.  I bought it a few months ago and is bone stock except for a 2" spacer lift (going to come out as soon as I save for a decent lift), and 32" tires.  I've added a custom front bumper, winch and fog lights and fix some stuff on the motor.

I got a fairly decent price for it, but the PO failed to mention the broke exhaust bolt closest to the firewall..  Had to take the head out and used a extractor to get the bolt out.  So that lead to me cleaning the head and pistons from carbon build up.  So, now I know the reason it was so cheap!  Luckily I am a mechanic and have raced cars and built race motors since I was a teen.

Just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Jay and I'm from West Virginia.  I acquired my 2000 TJ last December and have been slowly upgrading, but mostly replacing and repairing what the previous owners neglected.

I know the 2.5 isn't as peppy as some would like, but it gets me where I need to go!!

Hello,

New to 4bangerjp but not jeeping.  I live in SW MI but spent a lot of years in the Detroit area working for GM, TRW, and Jeep in the former Jeep Special Programs group.  I've wheeled an 89 Cherokee, a 94YJ with a SBC, and a 97 TJ 4.0 Auto.  I'm currently Jeepless and believe it or not I'm thinking of a 4cyl YJ for my next Jeep.  I've heard all the negatives and people telling me not to, but for some reason feel the need to wheel a 4cyl. and see what I can do with it,  call it a challenge maybe.

Anyhow, glad to be here and look forward to learning what I can about what you all are doing with the 4cyl jeeps.

Steve

Welcome!

Wish I didn't have to deal with state emissions so I could do an engine swap.   A 2.5L in a Willy's wagon is still going to be a bit of a dog.

Yes we're blessed with no emissions checks in kentucky, one would think as long as you stuck with a block/head and fuel system from the same year or newer you could get away with a 4.0 swap? and I agree the 2.5 is no 350,but its much better than the factory 75hp hurricane!lol Also it would be nice to walk into any part store and get what you need verses ordering.

This feels like what I imagine an AA meeting to be.

Hi everyone, I drive a '95 YJ 2.5L. Been doing so since 1998.

I have completed a few projects including: homemade front disco cable, hand throttle, e-fan, v8 injectors, 4.0tb, relocated intake temp sensor, intake baffle removal, larger oil filter, 5.9l alternator, intermittent wiper upgrade, CJ windshield knobs, cb radio, winch...

My plans:
1) Converting to ax15, I am open to any offers on reasonably priced parts.
2) Replace the completely old and original suspension with OME springs and Bilstein shocks.
3) a thousand other improvements! seats, stereo, metalcloak, 8.8, wj brakes, lockers, new top

I will attempt posting pictures to my profile.
