Hi everybody.
I'm Diamond from Greece and seems to be the rare case with an XJ 2.5L '99 model. I found the site while searching for help on 4banger engine.
It's my DD for now and i'm still looking to find why a 2.5l engine can't give more power from factory. I'm coming from a fast Italian coupe and still try  to get used to the raw feeling of the Jeep.
This is my first real 4x4 car (I have a small SUv too) and I'm willing to play with it in the future.
Right now is stock but in the future I plan to add something to get more power and some lift

Howdy

Jeep Specs:
'95 YJ
2.5l
NV3550
custom almost flat crossmember
np231 w/ sye
hp30 tj shaft conversion stock 4.10's
ferd 8.8 w/ trash-lock and 4.10's
34x10.50x15's on stock rims
Ram Charger front springs all the way around
1.5" lift shackles in the front
3/4 elliptical in the rear
2" Extended wheelbase
custom cut flat front fenders
Narrowed front bumper
Harbor Freight special winch

I think thats about all the important specs on my Jeep.
I plan in the near future to swap in 4.88's and a front locker (either lock right or Aussie)

I joined up mostly because I'm looking to add some hp/tq to the 4 banger, w/o adding any extra weight to the Jeep and heard that you are the tech guys to talk to about what works best, and what will be the best bang for the buck.

I'll get some pics up as soon as I get some current ones, I just did a quick search and realized I have nothing current. :brick: And since my camera is dead it may take me a while before I can get someone else to take them for me.

Just stopping in to introduce myself, Eric from Illinois. Great site, many think that 4 bangers are week and can't handle the trail so finding info on them seems hard.  I ride a 2002 TJ, Not to many mods yet but am slowly working on them.  Great to be a part of this forum and looking forward to sharing information.  Thanks, Eric

Well, here we go.  I live in the panhandle of florida and am looking to purchase a toy for my wife and I.  She'll go mall crawlin' and i'll go to the trails with it.  Right now I'm trying to close on a deal with a bone dry stock 97 TJ with the 2.5 (so i'm here).  My long term plans are: 1) 31x10.5s and either 1" BL or 2" BB; 2) exhaust, intake, throttle body, jet chip; 3) 2.5"-4" suspension lift, 33-35s, and 4.56s-4.88s (depending on what i need).  this is probably a three year project... to be realistic.  here's a pic:

teach me the ways of the four banger!

Hey... I'm Tori...

I bought my 2000 TJ 2 weeks ago and have already taken it up to Tahoe, I live in the Wine Country north of San Francisco and my Jeep is my DD.

I've wanted a jeep since I got my license and mommy & daddy said I'd flip it... so at the ripe age of 35 I finally got my baby...
