:wall: I dunno why I had to re-register, but I'm here now. Again. Coolio.
My name is Robert (Rob), live in Reno, NV (no, I haven't been to the Rubicon :brick:), I own a 2000 TJ SE that I bought new with 10 miles on it. I haven't done anything 'extreme' with it so far, but I've done a bunch. It rides on 31's in the summer and 235 studs in the winter. One of these days, I'll post everything I've done to it from radio (didn't come with one) to MOPAR cam.

Hi all,

Ryan here from Boston MA.  Currently in the market for a 97-02 TJ, 4.0 etc..

Life story? I'm 16, spent the last summer between my sophomore and junior year of high school riding a tandem bike across America with my dad.. We did it for fun, but i piggybacked fundraising for Children's Hospital Juvenile Cancer research&development.  Ended up riding 3,000 miles over a period of 45 days, and raising $5,500.

I'm self-employed, and have had my own mobile DJ company for 8 years.  I have a few guys that i contract out, with any event from weddings, sweet 16s, HS reunions, etc.  Got every tune from Glenn Miller to Eminem, 50k song library, multiple sound systems and intelligent lighting setups, cool stuff.  Also own an Event Management company that does planning and executing of private events.

I try to live life to the fullest, and push the limits to make the ride worthwhile.

I've wanted a jeep forever (along with a 65 mustang!), and I figured i'd get one before the summer rolls around.

So that's why i'm here.  This and PinStack.com *best BlackBerry forum on the web!* are my only foruming, so I hope this is as entertaining and helpful!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Ryan

Howdy folks!  I'm 22 and fresh out of collage (Clemson ).  I've been married 1.5 years.  My first "car" was an 88' Bronco (Fullsize).  I loved it!  About three summers ago I got the electric t-case (why make electric t-cases? :brick:) stuck in low 4x4 and gas prices spiked.  My dad convinced me to sell it and get a 2x4 F150.  I'd been having dirt withdrawals ever since (my wife has a XJ, but that is her Jeep and I can't wheel with it).  A few months ago the F150 got stolen and even though I got it back, I used it as an excuse to get a 4x4.  I traded it for a 95' YJ Rio Grande 2.5L.  I love it!  I had to get an automatic because I'm too big for stick shift jeeps.  It is weak as a kitten on the road, but off road it has spunk.  I want to fix it up and make a beast out of it, but I don't want to get rid of the 2.5 or loose too much gas mileage.  So I'll be looking at electric fans, exhaust, intakes and the like.  I currently live in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina and would love to learn about any local trails, 4x4 shops, and clubs.  I like mild ruts, rocks, clay, and trail riding.  I'm from the mountains and am just now getting used to sand.

blackberryforums is good.. I'm just a bigger fan on PinStack

goodluck with the iPhone.. I like them, but they don't do it for me.
No MMS, poor data speeds (even though both the BBerry and iPhone are on EDGE)

best of luck to you!

I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself.  I just purchased my forth jeep which is a 98 tj se.  Offroading has been one of my hobby for 15 years, anything outdoors really.  Considering I'm a big horsepower nut, I am surprised I went the 4banger route - the price of fuel dictated it though.  Does selling a rubicon to buy a four cylinder sound reasonable????

I'm Steve from VA, and I just bought my first Jeep a few months ago.  It's a '95 YJ with a 2.5, AX5, and 4.10 axle ratios.  It was pretty much stock when I bought it except for the 31x10.5x15 BFG ATs.  The tires lightly rub on the flares when going over uneven terrain (Honey, I NEED a lift kit).  It has considerably less power than my 345 HP 1500 Hemi Ram 4x4, but is a lot more agile in the rough stuff.  Being an old school hot rodder (Ford 390's mostly), I immediately started trying to get more power and torque.  The exhaust system was leaking in several places (Honey, I bought this Banks Header and Cat back so it can pass inspection OK?) and I found a new OEM 4 liter throttle body ($45) and a power spacer ($29) on E-bay (Honey, I got REALLY good deal on these Jeep parts).  I removed the intake during the install and did some grinding to improve flow.  The 4 liter throttle body did seem to pep up the 4 a bit, but I still decellerate going up hills in 5th.  I have an AEM CAI on the way (Honey, it improves the gas mileage$$$), but I am convince that the only way economical way to really have power and oversize tires on this buggy is to regear (maybe 4.56 if I install lockers someday).  Next I plan to work on getting more articulation, add power steering, and lose the tire rub.  I have lots to learn, and this seems like a good place to swap ideas.
95 YJ, 31 BFG ATs, 4.0 TB & spacer, Banks header, DynoMax CAT back, 19# inj, AEM CAI, 20 gal mod, Optima yellow
98 TJ, 35 BFG Krawlers, 4.0 liter, ax15, atlas 5:1, armor, Super 88 (under construction)
96 XJ Cheep Cherokee, 33s, 4.0 liter, AW4, future project
89 Waggy, 360 V8 727 dana 44s, it runs

Try this next time:

"Honey, what new part??  That thing's been on there for years."

or

"That was on there when I bought the thing." also works pretty well.  :beers:

Edit:  .....and where in VA???  I'm in Lynchburg a couple of times a year to visit the wife's family.
