Whats up everyone? Im from New York and new to the forum. I drive a 97 TJ SE 2.5, 5-speeder. Not my first Jeep, that was my '83 CJ8. Really haven't done much to it since I bought it back in January besides 4.0 TB swap and tires. Really looking for a soft top the hard top is a P.I.T.A. lifting on and off by myself. Loving the 16-18 MPG after owning a 1500 Ram 4X4 with a Hemi (and heavy foot)
Future plans:
Soft top
Wheels/Tires
Electric Fan
Keep fixing little stuff
Join the 200K miles club! Im getting close!
Ill be around, looking for info and the next "good" deal.

Hi my name is Dustin. I am very new to this site so please don't grill me. I am a mechanic for Georgia Power Company. I have turned wrenches for the last 12 years. My first off-roader was a 72 vw bug baja. My first real 4x4 was a 00 ford ranger 4x4. But it was not paid for so i had to take special care. I traded my 89 mustang coupe 5.0 for a 89 jeep 2.5. Best desion i ever made! So i want to keep it a 2.5 with small tires ( 31's or 33's) and beat up on all the 4.0, 4.6, 5.0 and so on. I found this site just surfin for yj parts and knew it was for me.  My jeep is the best TOY i OWN and i drive a fuely honda civic most of the time. I am realy stoked about this forum and i want to learn alot! I will be more than greatfull to share what i know but i don't everything.

Happy Jeepin and Recycle!
Dustin from Georgia

So your a mechanic? Did you run into any problems swaping 2.5's? Mine is totaly different than a 90 model. Thinking about going there.

Hello all.
I am James, from Sacramento. Picked up a 97 TJ 2.5l about a year ago for a great price, since have added a d44 to the rear/detriot locker, 4.88's front and rear, ported throttle body, throttle body spaecr, 33's. Also have a line on a longarm kit I am getting in a few weeks.

Hi, Im new to this forum. I currently own a 01 manual cherokee, and I used to own a 92 v-6 wrangler. But Im seriously looking into making another purchase with an early 90's wrangler. I love wranglers and its hard to part with them, even though I love my cherokee and its gas mileage. Thats about it. Im just hear at the forums to read your guys experiences with your 4-cylinder jeeps, and get the best info I can, before I decide to purchase another wrangler and fix it up.

Hey guys welcome !
I just did a roll-on bed liner in my jeep. I saved 280 bucks but it was a JOB! Sure looks good. So if you dont have a big budget and have some spair time ( about 10 hrs ) than DIY is the way to go!

Hey Everyone,

My name is Nicole.  I live up by the WI/IL border.  I heard about your group from another member at Northern Illinois Extreme Jeep Club.  And just cause I am girl doesnt mean I dont love getting dirty in my jeep.  I am always looking to go out and hit some trails.

I guess from you avatar we won't have to just take your word for it....

What's the difference between an "extreme" Jeep club and just a "regular" Jeep club?? :puzzled:

Hey All,

My name is Mike, and I have a jeep addiction problem.  I live in Southeast Wisconsin, and have a long history of owning Jeeps.
88 Cherokee-My first jeep-4.0, 5 speed...sold to buy a mustang convertible
89 Cherokee-4.0-Auto-ran great-paid 150 bucks for it...donated to my little brother as his first car
86 Cherokee-2.8 5 speed-GM POS engine-would shoot fire out of the straight-pipe  between gears when the choke got stuck shut
90 Wrangler 4 banger-First Wrangler!  Fell in love-made the mistake of trade in on this one
02 Liberty Renegade-In the shop 4 times the first and only month of ownership-goodbye
05 Wrangler Rubicon-Probably my all time favorite-sitting high on 35's-sold because of gas prices
05 Liberty Diesel-Awesome Car-But I got married and we want a house-gotta lose one of the car payments
07 Patriot-Her Car-Don't Worry, its the off road edition-and her old car was a liberty with the 3.7..Absolutely love this car-did better off road than any stock cherokee I have owned.
91 Wrangler-My Car-Back to basics with the 4cyl.  Have got my work cut out for me on this one.

I do all my own work on my jeeps-welding, engine work, body work and painting.  My bro's a jeep freak too.  He can't join though because last year we put a I6 4.7 Stroker we built in his 91 wrangler.  Amazing vehicle.  Please feel free to email me if someone is going wheelin or needs help/advise on something! mike.gramann@fiserv.com
