Well, I'd just like to say hello to everyone, I just picked up my first 2.5L 1994 YJ about 5 days ago, and I love it there are some issues to work out but thats what time is for.  I am from Windsor, Ontario, Canada.  I have owned jeeps before but never a 4 banger and never this new, but this time a 4cyl YJ is exactly what I was looking for and it took some time to located a good shape one.  Well I am glad I came across this site, it seems perfect with tons of information for any 4cyl jeep owner.  Thank for having me.

Hey everyone,

Joined a little while ago but haven't had much time to get on here and introduce myself. I live in SW Pennsylvania and bought my first Jeep back in June of '08. As with pretty much anyone else, I was looking for a 6 cylinder with a 5 speed. But, about 8 blocks away from my house was a clean '95 Wrangler Rio Grande with a 2.5 4 banger and a 3 speed 30RH auto. Kinda the opposite of what I wanted, but with only 60,400 miles on the clock and very little rust, I couldn't pass it up.

I came across this site when I was looking for some information on a 4.0L throttle body swap, mainly performance improvements from it. I was rather impressed with the information and knowledge on here and decided to join. 8)

hi, names billy
i have a 98 TJ with 32" tires, tube fenders, custom roll cage, stinger from bumper, a swing down tire carrier. just put a 4.0L throttle body on, and am waiting for my E-fan and throttle body spacer to get here. pretty soon i'll be stuffing an sm420 trans into in and gettin some 35" tires. i'd like to  go bigger with my tires but i dont know if my axles will handle it. i'd like some 37s on it and im not afraid of a sawzall. my jeeps also got a 3 inch body lift that i'd like to drop back to stock of maybe 1", and a 2" spacer lift. i plan on putting leafs in the rear and a 3 or 4 link on the front.
as you can see i have alot of idea, but the cash flow isnt as plentiful as the imagination.
i also have 2 other projects i'm workin on finishing. a 1931 chevy 2 door sedan ad a 1953 chevy 4 dr bel air.

New kid on the block.
From upstate NY. Bought a Cherokee 7 years ago now I'm addicted to Jeeps.
Bought a 91 YJ 4banger 5 speed, Runs great everything worked.
Now for the fun part, drove it to the top of the hill on my property (NY RUST @#$$%^)
Frame broke ,tranny skidplate comes loose.

Now what? Tore it apart, got a rust free frame, found another body, reassembled the chassis, 4 inch lift, new wheels tires brakes lines cables shocks rebuilt the axles. Now it's engine time, like I said it ran great, HOWEVER I just can't put it back in without cleanin it up, If I do that new gaskets, might as well do rings and bearings.

That brings me to my question, if I'm taking it apart what should or can I do to make it run better faster stronger?

Hi Everyone,

Just found out about this site the other day from the other jeeps.com forum.  Had knee surgery a year ago, developed blood clots going to the lung, was hospitalized, almost died, etc... so vowed to get a Wrangler once I was free & clear of issues.  Always wanted one.  Well here in NY City, Wranglers are NOT cheap!  Found an '89 Black YJ for $1400 and grabbed it.  Have had it since June, hasn't been running since August.  Still trying to figure out what's wrong (have not had time to wrench on her as I'm also expecting my 1st child)hope to have her running in the next month.

Wrench it, break it, fix it, repeat!
