Well I'm a new guy so HELLO!
Name is Dan and I just bought my first 4 banger, second wrangler. this one is gonna be mostly a mall crawler its a '94 with factory air and the 5 speed. rolling on 33's otherwise stock. the first wrangler is a '93 I-6 with 36" swampers and some other goodies. then there is the '04 Liberty (dadmobile) and momma's '07 commander. I guess we like jeeps! lol

The rims's are only 20" with 33" Nitto Terra Grappler's.  They were from my old car, but they fit so I put them on and added bigger shoes to the rims......

It is my Daily driver so it doesn't see a lot of Trail rides.....  I play in the Mud when I can and sling MUD every where!!!!! I can still lower my tire pressure if needed.....

I'm Pete, a little slow in this introduction as I needed to get some work out of the way on my new to me 97 TJ.  Had many 4WDs over the years since my original cj I bought new after being discharged.  Loved it dearly even after rolling it wheels up into a wash with thankfully deep sand, but family comes first (3 kids) so Chevy Suburbans and trucks a Ford Bronco and Expeditions after that.  We have my '96 2WD GMC pickup and a brand new Tacoma crew cab 4x4 now so I just bought a cheap 4 banger to play around in the Arizona desert and have a third vehicle to use when the kids/grandkids fly home to visit. 
To make it more desert friendly I raised it 2" to get more clearance with my 30x9.5s.  Put on a 62mm TB and Spacer from Bounty Hunter (thanks again BH) and have a line on a Banks header used for $180 so a cat back system may be next.  At 126,000 I am looking for reliability but don't enjoy the Interstates when my trips take me that way so bang for the buck performance is also high on the list.  Currently worried about an electric fan mod (Taurus) in our summer temps with the A/C on for the better half.  Always been a tinkerer so enjoy your site and the gentlemanly posters here.  Will post pics as soon as I get the hood repainted as the clear coat was eaten by the sun.

New to the forum. Just picked up a new toy a couple weeks ago, an 89 islander 2.5 5 speed. This is my 4th jeep. My first was an 86 CJ7, then on to a 91 islander, then a 93 grand cherokee. All the other jeeps were 6 cyls. The 89 is in really good shape. Has been lifted (dont know exactly how much), running 31's. All new seats, like new soft top with hard half doors. Only minor rust. Guy that had it took really great care of it. Fun to drive, even if it is way on the lacking power side. Hoping to find some ways to get a little more out of the 2.5. Already has electric fan installed. Anyways it is great having a jeep again. Have only got to do a little 4x4ing in snow so far. Waiting for spring to hit Indiana so the top can come down. Not my DD, just for snow when I need it and fun in summer.

hello to everyone Im Gary Childress Ive owned my jeep for almost a year and i love it. Its a 95 yj when i got it, it was in so so shape it sat up 13 years but only had 27000 miles on it. Since ive had it i put 6 inch lift 35 inch tires had to redo all wiring and changed it from a auto to a 5 speed gotta love the 5 speed gained lots of power and mpg. well thats about it for now

My name is Tom and I've been around Jeeps since I was about 9.  I grew up in Central NY and spent many days riding in my dads 1945 Willys MB.  My dads best friend had about 7 Jeeps all Willys MBs or CJ2s.  I moved to Florida around age 16 and didn't have a Jeep of my own, but through the years my grandfather had a nice 1985 Scrambler and my step-brother had a 70 something Jeepster.  Then years later, once my two sons got old enough to ride in the woods I started getting back into offroading.  Since then I have my own 1989 YJ with the 2.5 on 4" springs and 33" BFGs.  Recently I have aquired a 1980 J10 with the 401. 

I found this site while looking for some vacuum line info.  I'm glad to see there is a forum dedicated to the 4 banger Jeeps!

I am from Lexington NC....43 years old . I just purchased my first Wrangler (00) . I have wanted one since I was 15 . I used to drive my uncle's ,occasionally, and fell in love with it.  I have already switched the wheels to Dick Cepek...running 30 in tires....added side bars ...light bar with the new Warn remote lights...(waiting for them to arrive).  I am hoping to do a lot more in the near future. I was told that you guys were a great group to consult with and fellow 4-bangers. Wow this almost sounds like a rehab ...So hi my name is Donnie and I am a Jeep-aholic....only I don't want to be rehabilitated.

Newbie here! Not new to jeeps but new here. I'm a 24yo Student/soccer coach/motorcyclist/outdoor enthusiast from Alabamer. I've got a Red 98 stock 4banger on 31'' w/ black rims, 110K miles. I came here because I figured a devoted 4cyl forum would have more information than, just stick the 4.0 in.  My Jeep is unfortunately been under the weather for the last 5 months. The back piston decided it wanted to fall apart. I took the engine out and broke it down, unfortunately I got really busy and haven't touched it since. I've since purchased a car and am now ready to rebuild my engine. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good rebuild thread? I'll admit i haven't searched to terribly hard but I am getting started in that regard. I've never rebuilt a car engine (done dirt bike and go-cart engines) but I would like to do it just to say that I did and I can. Any info or help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, My name is Adam Smith i'm a SSG in the ARMY, I just bought a 97 4-cylinder jeep wrangler. I have a problem with trying to work on things myself with no mechanical training what so ever. Hopefully you guys will be able to point me in the right direction. I don't really know to much about the capabilities of the vehicle i made the purchase do to the weather conditions where I live and the affordable price. I've read through some of the threads and from what i can tell it looks as though i'll pick up some good info here. Thanks' for allowing me the privilege of a membership and I hope to get know you guys better throughout the ridicules questions i'll probably be asking.
