Great site, good tech.  Happy to be included.

Long time jeep guy, first one with a little engine (also first one that is fuel injected).  My thanks to the creators and mods of this site.

Hello from North Texas!  I figured I've use this site enough, I need to go ahead and join. I've got a few projects coming up here in two weeks. I might need to pick someone's brain. Hope to see some of you around

Hi all, My name is Jim from St. Petersburg, Florida area. I have 1 94yj 2.5L 4Banger. This is my 2nd 94yj 4 Banger actually. I bought it last year for $4800 and am in the middle of doing some major work to it as we speak. Installing a new 2.5L 4Banger with a high torque cam and a 3 Angle valve job. Also installing an electric fan kit, 4" Zone suspension lift, Heavy duty shackles, 32" Dunlop Mudders with MB Chaos5 wheels. Will be doing a few other Mods to the 2.5 such 4.0L Tb, Bosch 19lb Injectors, cold air intake and mabye a header (not sure on those last 2 yet). Anyway doing most work myself with the help of some friends (who luckily a couple are pretty handy mechanics and one is a paint and body guy...lol) Anyhow not a whole lot of trails in St. Pete so not sure how much off roading I will be doing yet, but I am definitely going to do some. I love Jeeps and always have and don't forsee me ever not having one again.

Hey, just picked up a solid '94 2.5/ax5 for a song and a 2.5 from an 01 dakota for peanuts as well.  I might actually get into a nice jeep without spending  $wrangler tax$ money, lol.

First let me thank you all for the info I gleaned already. Didn't waste my time on some stuff I might have.
And Second, I'm guessing you know the story. Bought this one new and finally to the point where I can play with it a little, so I'm going to. I used to work in construction, got a job in the appliance industry, spent some time laid up and now work in insurance. I have alot of hobbies and lately I've been adding Jeep mechanic (by choice-not necessity) to my list. Turns out to be kind of fun if you have the patience and realize that yes, it probably will take all day. Heh.
Not going to bug you all with the run of the mill questions. I'm guessing the answers are out there, if I look around.
Remember when you all were newbies? Thanks for putting all this together-it helps.

My name is Tom, and I think I own a Jeep... at least that is what I was originally thinking. I bought my first Jeep a little over a year ago. It is a 94 YJ with 2.5L and manual transmission.  I bought it from a friend who bought it new when she was in college. She sold it to me because she wanted it to be happy. I kind of feel like the kid that bought one of those gremlin critters and got it wet...  I think I have about 10K invested in a vehicle that has a blue book value of about $3500.  But it sure has been a fun year. New tires, new brakes, re-geared, electric fan, flowkooler water pump, mean green alternator, lots of Tuffy items, headlight conversion, new bumpers, add-on power outlets, and the list goes on. I sometimes resemble the remark that if it isn't broke, I haven't tinkered with it yet. New to the 4bangerjp site... but looking forward to learning even more ways to make this Jeep my own.. just don't let her find out I said that.

Hey 4bangerJP! My name is Dan and I'm up here in upstate New York between Albany and Syracuse.

I'm not new to Jeeps. I've had an 80 and 83 CJ7, 87 and 88 YJ's,  an 02 KJ (Liberty), an 04 WJ and now this is Jeep number seven, my new 95 YJ. Sold the 04 WJ to buy this one because damn, I just had to get back into a Wrangler. With one kid (and another on the way), a mortgage and earning a part-time civil service salary, I was priced out of the JK and TJ game.

For the money, I think I did pretty good with this 95 YJ. Plus it's a late 95 so that's good. I'm going to miss air conditioning, speeds over 60 mph and being able to hear my music, but it'll be worth it.

Out of allllll those Jeeps I've owned, this is my first 4-banger. In fact, this is the first 4 cylinder vehicle I've EVER owned. Luckily I have another car that goes somewhat fast if I want to go fast that day.

Anyway, great work on the forums, this is a great resource and I am very pleased so far with the user interface and speed of the forum. Hope to help and be helped! Here she is...consider this the "before" picture.

Hey guys!  Bought a black 1997 Wrangler SE back in January of 2012 with about 87,000 miles on the clock.  Frame and body in good shape, but of course lots of small stuff to do, and it is ongoing!  Trying to get it into shape for a daily driver- it was supposed to be my 16 year olds ride, until I found out how much they were going to charge me for insurance!  Now he is going to get my 2010 Nissan Frontier as they will be charging us over $500 bucks LESS a year for him to drive that!  Truth be told I am loving the TJ and am spending the time and effort to make it a reliable DD.  The first new car/truck I ever bought was a 1979 CJ7 I bought in early 1980 as a twenty-something.  That was the most fun I ever had with a vehicle and the TJ brought all those memories back and now I can't stand to let her go!  I'll have lots of questions so bare with me!  Thanks for having me!
