Did one in the front last week...no complaints.  Not sure how it differs from the rear

The rear is pretty easy compared to the front.  No need to unbolt the hubs to get the axle shafts out of the way.  It can be a PITA to get the locker into the diff though.  Still it's not that hard.

If you dont have the super 35 upgrade you are basically asking to break somthing, most likely it will be at the most inconvenient time too....  I am doing withought a locker for that simple reason, I will buy a 100 dollar 8.8 from the junkyard and lock that before I ever think about locking a stock D35...  My plan is to wait a few months and do it right, because replacing axle shafts once a week while on the trail isnt my idea of a good time...

my friend has  stock d 35, and 33's.  has yet to break stuff, and he wheels his jeep much harder than me.  i think ill take my chances on breaking something.

Might?  I would be willing to bet that if the Jeep sees some real wheeling action it will only be a matter of time before it DOES break.  I have seen one guy who broke an axle spinning in the mud, just freely spinning in the mud with 31's and snapped an axle.  Im not trying to be mean, but for another 150 bucks you could swap in an 8.8 and be a lot better off in the long run, money and time saved in the long run too.

Yeah, Blame Jeep for making everything trail rated except the rear axle!  Im swapping axles before I even lift my Jeep, other than the temporary 2 inch budget boost, breaking an axle and having to fix it when I cant even see the rear end because its under mud or water isnt my idea of a fun afternoon on the trail.

I would venture to say that I already know what is going to happen...  Its like shooting yourself in the foot over and over with a pellet gun, each time it hurts, so do you continue to do it just hoping that the next time it doesnt hurt?  No, you learn from the first 99 times that yes indeed it hurts, and the 100th time wont be any different...

Then they go and hide the differential in front of the gas tank to make it even harder to work on.  A big enough lift can solve this though.
