I have had zero problems with the fan. I dont know how many amps it pulls but I drive alot at night and have never had a problem.  I am running the stock alternator. The fan has been on my jeep for about three years now. I also have it wired so it runs after the Jeep is shut off. If someone gets under my hood , say at a mall parking lot, on a warm day they may very well lose a hand.  :nono: :nono:

I bought the same fan, haven´t installed it yet. Did you had any problems with the amount of amps it pulls using the stock alternator?

I used my Ford fan with the stock alternator almost all winter, and I drive with my stereo blasting, and my auxiliary lights (they used to be 100W fog lights at the time, but I now changed to 50W bulbs for city driving) on all the time without any ssues.  I did later upgrade to a 160A alternator (164A I think it was).

Sounds like it's a standard Dakota Alternator.  Those are 160A stock.

The one I bought had had no issues.  It was custom rebuilt to give 170A.  The 2-year warranty is nice as well.

I bought mine for $25 off ebay and had it shipped for under $50.  It came with a relay and some wiring as well which was nice.
