Is there anything good to be said about them? Besides bein' purdy? Seriously, there have been a lot of Fram filter failures, some resulting in destroyed engines. Cut one open sometime and take a look. I used to run them all the time; now run Mobil 1, Purolater, or something made by Wix. I personnally watched a Fram shoot off a Jeep. We screwed it back on and put in 3 qts. of oil, and watched it shoot off again! It was towed home and a different brand filter screwed into place, filled with oil, and it's still running with no problems. We'd just completed a trail builder for the club ( TRJC.com ), and had spent the day winching and dragging brush off the trail when it let go.
