This came together pretty quick.






This was fun. I had no idea how it would turn out. I just stared building and this is the result. The upper jaw bearing still spins.  :thumbsup: You can see some Ford and GM logo's on some of the valves.

Congratulations!! I think that your skill in both designing and carrying out those designs has REALLY improved, not that it was bad to begin with, but those last Christmas gifts are really impressive, I am amazed by the complexity of the golden retriever's tail, and the simplicity of the design of the cook, mechanic and football player. I know that they may look simple but must be really tough to come up with those designs. I don't know if I make my point clearly enough: it's simple and awesome.  I think that the gifts that are made by the same person that gives the gift, are the best ones. Being an amateur cook myself I always like to cook my gifts for the people I care.

Thanks, I always enjoy feedback. Sometimes less is more.
That Golden tail took about 4 hours. But it's worth the time if it comes out right. The home made gifts are almost not happening anymore it seems. It is nice to get something that was made for someone. I added the horns on to the football player since the person getting it moved out here from Minn. and he is a huge Vikings fan.

Hmm, interesting BUT the only thing I don't quite lie are the Phillips screw heads.  No space weapon would use Phillip heads!  Maybe steel rivets...

The steam punk purists agree with you. I thought about cutting off some small carriage bolt heads and using a epoxy to fasten them but I didn't have the energy. This thing took way longer than I thought it would. The metal on the small engine muffler (round tube thingy) was way to thin to weld on. The handle is cast alum. so no welding steel to it. I like the fact the Phillips heads are brass looking VS chrome or shiny silver. It's a nice contrast. But for a first time I am happy with it. I sure learned a lot!

This naughty dog was commissioned.




The lady who ordered it wanted something in the belly. I was thinking a bone, but thought a shoe would be funny.

I have thought about it. Right now I can't get a head. It's going as fast as I can make it. I am sure things will slow after Christmas. I have looked on there. There is some really nice stuff. I know a lady who sells things she sews on there.
I was going to try and build up some inventory and do a craft show. The problem with selling on line is the packaging and shipping. That dog weighs exactly 40#. I'd have to build a crate to ship it. I don't think a cardboard box would live long. Some of the smaller things would be easy to package. I have a number of small projects I could do I guess. Time will tell. Right now it don't feel like a job. I am having a blast doing this. I'd rather sculpt than anything and it's going to get me in trouble around the house.  :fish:  :lol:
