As you can see there is plenty off room for a V8 swap! The fan is loud because of the amount of air it pushes, but even at idle on low you can't really hear it, high you can hear a little bit.I have a soft top and can barely hear myself think so noise is no issue. After a short drive The temp was already running about 200* instead of the normal 210*. I will see how much difference it makes after driving to work tommorrow.
I strongly recommend the Delta Current Control FK35; that and this fan are a match made in heaven! This will help you lower the AMP draw and keep the engine temp lower. It will also shut the fan off while driving at highway speed (IE when it is not needed, which means that more HP are freed up!)
I will find a thermo static switch where did you get yours Jeff? That relay is a Ford starter relay it was $12 at napa I think it's rated for 80amps. here is a link to another write-up I used along with Jeff's and he used this along with a Bosch 40amp relay. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/ford-taurus-two-speed-e-fan-install-pics-233676/i wonder is a fan shroud will make it work even better? I did notice a little more pep at take off.I carpooled today so didnt get to test it out today, but i will drive it tommorrow to see how much it helps.
