hello all, i live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. i own a 95 YJ that i wheel when and where i can ( although there is not much wheeling around here).  i have owned my jeep about a year now and have not done many mods other then 4.0L throttle body, and seats out of a Hyundai, i plan to do more mods hence why i am here lol. anyway i'm just introducing my self, and  if there happens to be anyone else from around my part of MB. and would interest in showing me some of their wheeling spots that would be cool as i am not able to get out there as much as i would like to.

My name is Colin, and my rig is my first Jeep. (I got it in February of 07). I have a '93 YJ S with the 2.5L angry squirrel engine, larger shackles and a 1 3/8 inch body lift. I'm currently running 31x10.50x15 tires as well. I'm planning on doing a lot more to it, but finances come into play :P (Just Empty Every Pocket, ya'know?) I live in Groton, MA and am a member of http://www.baystatejeepers.com/.

I found this site looking for some modifications to get my little 4 banger up to par highway driving. It's my DD, and a couple times a month I like to drive 200 miles to Vermont to visit family/friends up there, and so I've been looking for improvements.

Being new to Jeep, I recently took my Jeep out on a run with the club this past weekend, these are some pictures:

My big plans for it upcoming are:
-Quick Disconnects for the front sway bar
-Engine Skid plate (I already broke a motor mount and bashed up the oil pan pretty well)
-Lift (hoping to go 3.5" or 4")
-SYE and CV driveshafts
-33x12.50x15 Tires
-Ford 8.8
-Re-gearing once I get the ford 8.8 in
-Lockers
-.... more to come.

I plan on doing some of the simple engine upgrades as I can in-between these bigger projects. As you all know, the list is ever changing. I want to go for a cold air intake and a 4.0L throttle body/spacer soon, and then possibly move to a better exhaust there. I do plan on beating on my heep, so I don't want something too expensive.

Well that's me... I'll be posting more on the forums to come :P

Hello my name is Brian from Cincy OH. I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with a 4” Black Diamond Lift and 33” Buckshot (which are cracking and getting replaced soon, but not sure which to get as of yet, im in the shopping zone).  I recently just paid off my TJ and will be converting it to mostly off road travel (which means time to modify all the lame stock baddie parts with goodies). First of course is new tires, and then I was thinking about a gear change. As I will be rolling on at least 33’s and I would like a little more power.  Cmgorman94 mentioned in a post that he went from 4.10 to a 4.88 and was a great upgrade. Was wandering if anyone had pricing on gear changing and is it DIY or should a shop handle that?  Thanks for letting me join the forum hope to learn and meet knew peeps with jeeps.

Colin,
dont waste your money on quick disconects, just take ur sway bars nd track bars off alltoegther nd see how the ride is b4 u sink money into useless parts, i run no sway or track bars front nd rear, and it rides better than it did stock.

I've heard that elsewhere before as well, and you know, all these people telling me to try something... well sounds like I should try it :P

My heep is actually at a fellow club member's garage at the moment (I broke the passenger side engine mount right off, sheared it clean.) We thought we had all the parts in, but it seems the spacer bracket on the replacement was broken as well, so now I'm just going to go to the stealership and get the new part. (It's been redesigned to be much stronger. Mounting the engine via one bolt and a spacer is one of the worst designs I've seen.)

Going to soak the sway bar bolts in PB when I get it back, and pray for the best when I try to pull it apart. (I haven't yet, only gone light wheeling.)

just pop the links off the anchor plates and swing them up and zip tie them to the frame.

caution actions maybe harder than they sound
