I am not new to the Jeep thing.  I have had my Jeep about 3 years.  I live right near the Sierras near Sacramento and enjoy taking the Jeep up the old trails around some of the old mining areas.  I have not started to modify my Jeep it came with 31's when I bought it.  Look forward to talking about future modifications so maybe I can avoid some of the more annoying errors in Jeeping.

Hey yall, my name is Justin I'm 26 & married with 2 kids and a daucshund named chief.  We live on a farm in tennessee so this is where I do my wheeling.  I've been driving my blue 93 YJ 2.5L for about 6 years now. No lift or anything but I've got a ramsey winch and ordered some aussie lockers (just haven't put them in yet).  I just found this site a couple days ago & I'm loving it.  Looking foward to some of your advice, everybody seems pretty quick from what I've read.
93 YJ:2.5l aussie's front & rear, 4.0TB & spacer, hand throttle, 19lb injectors, no trackbars, ramsey 8.5e.

Hello all, I'm a newb to the forum but have had my Wrangler since May 2006 and have been off-roading it since it had 300 miles on (I have proof via my first stuck was also at 300 miles and we got plenty of pics, lol) I have a ton of off roading pictures on my myspace page as well as a few vids. I'm not to heavily built (yet). Just running the stock drivetrain with a 2" spacer lift and 31" Mud Terrains. If you live in the New england area and want to go wheeling, just hit me up.

Hey Mike here from Roanoke VA. I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ stock. Currently off the road for the last 6 weeks due to an accident (not my fault) but still battling with the insurance company. My first plans for the Jeep is a 4" suspension lift. Probably rough country due to the cost. Then after that we will see where it takes me. As I said cost is the big thing I have a wife and 3 kids so even when we are ok I still get shot down by the wife on spending money on the Jeep. Gotta love it.

Not to say that your choice is poor when it comes to RC, but when it comes to price of things, one thing to consider is that you get what you pay for; sometimes it is better to save up and go for the better stuff rather than buying the cheap stuff and then later having to replace it for the good stuff anyway...

In any case, welcome! I am sure you will find lots of guidance here from other members as well!

HI, my name is Jeremy and I'm a jeepaholic!, and like yourselves I have a lack of horsepower, but I make the best of it and have a lot of fun with my '95 yj, I'm running a 4" rough country lift and 32" pro-comp at's, and an aussie in the D35(oh no!) but so far with the under abundance of h.p. I have managed to keep the 35 turning without any problems, custom front/rear bumpers and a smittybilt XRC8 w/synthetic line.

Hey everyone, I live in Michigan, near Detroit.  I drive a 95 2.5L YJ that I've had since 98.  I'm married with kids, work for the public school system as a social worker.  I've been offroading for around 10 years or so.

Some of my jeep mods include some offroad stuff, some trail-riding stuff, and some silliness kind of stuff.  here's some pics...

Badlands poser shot...

Badlands Stuck shot...

Harlan, KY

Seriously though, mods include:
- SOA front end with some shackle and hanger mods to  drop it about an inch.  running bastardized stock YJ packs which are going to change to a combo of YJ and XJ leaves this summer I hope.
- SUA rear with BDS 3.5" lift springs.  This is on purpose so I didn't have to mess with a antiwrap bar.  I like it but I wish it was softer.  Eventually, this will XJ leaves which are laying on my garage floor.
- Front axle is a Waggy 44 with high & cross over steering.  tie rod and drag link are 1/4 wall 5.13 gears, aussie, Ruffstuff cover
- Rear Axle is a Ford 8.8, 5.13 gears, aussie, rockcrusher cover (using dreaded 2 piece adapters for bolt pattern change to match front - it's been 2 years without a problem)
- Tires are a combo of 35" MTR's on the front and 35" Boggers on the rear (price was right, but this combo works very well for me)
- Front driveshaft is square 2.5" 1/4 wall tube sleeved over 2" 1/4 wall tube.  I needed long travel and I was broke.  I don't think I'd pay for a new front shaft after having this one though.
- Homemade tube fenders and highline hood.  Hood was trimmed up about 3.75".  These are prolly going to get changed out too in favor of genrights high line fenders
- warn 9.5ti
- custom front and rear bumpers and tire carrier
- Stock motor, no mods (it's a huge 4 cyl, who needs 'em), leaky exhaust manifold
- Stock t-case other than the SYE kit
- Stock AX-5 tranny getting ready to spit out it's second set of synchros
- ditched the cat so the muffler can fit under the skid plate, exhaust is routed out next to the pass. side rear tire.  LOTS OF BACKFIRING WITH THIS COMBO....

Hi, my name is Jared. I'm 23 and I live in Mooresville, NC. That's just north of Charlotte.

I don't have a Jeep right at this minute but I'm probably going to buy a '94 YJ with the 2.5L/5-speed combo this coming Tuesday. I've had a couple Cherokees and a Wagoneer so this isn't my first trip to the Jeep rodeo :D The only thing is, all of my previous Jeeps had the 4.0L/Automatic combo, so I know practically nothing about the 2.5L/5-speed combo. This is where you guys will hopefully come in :D

Another newbie to the forum, Thanks for letting me join in!
I'm Steve Harnois from Jacksonville Florida
Founder of TeamFATBOY :beers:
I work for one of the major RR's and write for the Fishing Connection paper thats distributed regionally around the North Florida area.

I bought a 97' TJ to give a break to my Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 ext which I drive daily and use to pull my 21' bass boat travelling and fishing. The TJ's to use mostly as my hunting and goofing off vehicle (toy). My off roading consist of cruzing a 266,000 acre Natl' Forest mostly on graded roads, wood roads and mud holes. I'm a turkey and bow hunting fanatic and love camping by myself when hunting, Just adds to the whole expeirience and gets me away from the stress of work and the ever growing crowds of people on the water!
Not looking for a rock climber, just something to get me in there and back home! No more jacked up trucks either, 35 year of climbing in and out of them, My fat [edit] has had enough! ;)

97' TJ soft top
4 banger, 5 speed
1' coil spacers and shocks
9.50 x 30 BFG A/T's on factory alum. 15x8's
A slow work in progress! :thumb:

Greetings from Chillicothe Ohio. I just bought my first Jeep a couple months ago, a stock 95 YJ and fell in love. I've stripped the inside and lined the tub, swapped out the throttle body to a 4.0 (I'll be posting my trouble with that in a few), and I'm working on saving some money for a 4" Rough Country lift and 33's.
