BFG's have some of the weakest sidewalls around, second only to Yokohamas.  If you wheel in the sharp rocks, they don't last long.

For rim size, 12.5" wide tires work best on 8" rims.  If you run them on 10's and air down to a usable level, you will blow a lot of beads.

I agree with this...  Although the new BFG KM2's are a different beast.  Only downside is that they are limited sizes in 15" Dia. wheel.  Everyone's going 17" Dia. these days.

those km2's look nice but wrong rim sizes (from what i found), no 33's (from what i found) and way too expensive.  God damn I hate the idea of buying something so expensive that will absolutely have to be replaced.  Someone needs to invent some sort of indestructible tire material pronto. Jeffy?

i personally like the guy who drives his jeep on the side.

Also, how do you embed these videos so I don't have to put these silly hyper links?!?!

I bought the Interco TrXus based on reviews.....I commute with my Jeep as well and off-road once a month.

I haven't actually put them on yet as I have to get my axles on first.

Are those the trxus STS?   I've never seen anyone actually use those things offroad, what kind of terrain are they supposed to be good for?   Couple guys in the club use the trxus MT's - with good results, but they wear fairly quickly with a lot of road use.

Trxus STS are probably the best non paddle style tire for the sand.  They are also very good in the snow.  I ran them on my last TJ and was very pleased with them in every aspect.  They gripped well on rock, shale rock and loose dirt, snow sand, and even did ok in some mud.

actually because a 10" wide wheel allows for a flatter/wider contact patch you don't need to air down nearly as far as you do with an 8" wheel.  The one thing I don't like about 10" wheels is that they seem to wander around in and out of the ruts on the highway alot more then my 8's did.

I run 15x8's with my 35/12.50's.  I wouldn't change a thing.  I like being able to air down to about 10-15 psi and not worry about it.  As for running a 15x10 offroad with 30 psi and airing down on a 15x8 to about 12 psi, it is not the same at all.  With the tires aired down they will give you a much larger contact area, because they actually pancake a bit, resulting in an even larger contact area. Also, the wider your stance the happier you will be both onroad and off.

And if you are running tires with heavy sidewalls, your on street pressure is more like 20psi and offroad is around 5 psi.  12.5" tires on a 10" rim is just asking for trouble unless you never air down to a usable level.
