I was commissioned to build a 1940 John Deere Model B. I had made one  before so this one went a bit faster and I made a change or 2.


I added both fuel filler caps. Luckily I found some carriage bolts with a "F" stamped on the head that was about the right scale. My first tractor only had one filler cap.

A thermostat made a pretty good flywheel.

A Craftsman socket and U joint cap made pretty good pullies.

Here are the 2 side by side. The one on the left is my original.

I have been wanting to do a desk lamp for some time. Finally got around to it. It's fully adjustable.

That could kill someone if it fell off the desk.  :lol:

If you used some braided cord and maybe a older style lamp shade, I think it would blend in better.  I'd also take the loops out at the bottom.  if you need something to stop the cable from being pulled through, I'd maybe weld another socket on the base and tie a knot in the cord and shove it inside the socket.

I wish I had a older style cord. That's what I could find at Lowes. They were out of the black ones. I didn't think brown would look good.
Industrial type shades are hard to come by. I robbed that one off a work light.
I was looking at those loops when I was taking those PICS and thought I should take them out. But I left them. The cord stays pretty good with out them, since there is a few wraps on the reel/spool that the little guy is holding.

I got a E-mail from someone in Belgium about a Pelican build. There last name is Pellikaan. I did one last year for someone so they wanted to know if it was still for sale. could be my first international sale.  :smokes:

i really like these 2, really nice work, what did you use for the lower side of the beak? it took me a little to realize what i'm looking at (didn't read your comment) and once i clued in was like "right, that's what it is" - that added to the artistic impression quite a bit to be honest.

The mouth (beak) open area are 2 allen wrenches that I bent and shortened the short side to get the open area. Then the lower sides are 3/16 mild steel.
The upper beak, one is a concrete drill bit and the other was a wrench. The wrench was a fairly large metric one. IIRC 22mm on one end and 24mm on the other. The reason I chose that was it had Fiat cast into it. Must of came from a tool kit from a Fiat. But the customer didn't like the Fiat on there so I ground it off.  :'(

Here is my latest project. The cap gun is a Hubley. From what I understand they stopped making cap guns in 1965. This one is the "Flip" I couldn't find out much on it doing a quick google search.
But the project was a lot of fun to build. This one came together without much trouble. It's just over a foot tall.

This should work with most 750ML bottles. Right at 100 parts,tools,and various bits of hardware in this.
