In all honesty, my first guess is it should work just fone to cool the 2.5L; I have the 3.8L one, and even in low speed it is more than capable of cooling down the Jeep...

I have the DC Control module connected to the high speed side, JFYR...  The low speed is connected to a relay, so that I can override the DC Control and turn the fan on (it's kind of a fail safe in case the DCC ever fails, but that has yet to happen).  In any case, with the override ON (fan turned on at low speed), I can barely make it to 190* temp (even in situations where I am in 4L, have the engine revving up, temp is above 85*, and there is no wind).

Why not just put a switch between the 12 volt line and the source (I'm gonna use the lighter since I've never used it. )

i ended up with a 3.0l fan (of the 2 speed variety (2 speed only existed for 2 years iirc for the 3.0l)).. it definitely has enough power in high... can't say much about  low speed since Ive been having bad luck with thermostats sticking so i haven't gully debugged it yet but low should be enough, and my radiator is about dead so it doesn't cool as good as it should.

I was not sure how well the DCC was going to work, and I wanted a way around it in case it failed (did not want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with no cooling!).  There is a way to override the ON switch by using a switch and powering the blue cable (AC Compressor cable), as this will turn the fan on, but as I said, I wanted it to be redundant.

By the way, my rad is an aluminum radiator....

It takes a while, but the controler is worth the wait...

bah...you're telling me that if he worked an 8 hour day, he couldn't make enough to meet demand as well as build up some stock so he could simply ship when orders came in??   :'(

I'm just pissed because it will actually be "not freezing" this weekend and would be a great time to spend two days f-ing around on the Jeep. :brick:

I hear that. I'm doing my plugs/wires/cap/rotor next weekend. I hope it's warm.
