Mostly small stuff. Bearings,small gears (not R&P I have a good supply) spider gears size, timing chain gears are good too. U joints
Gears from motor bike or snow machine tranny's are always good. Valves come in handy too. Bolts of about any size, pinion nuts.
Nothing aluminum. I wire feed with flux core so I can't do the exotic metals.

What kind of stuff are you coming across?
Does your postal system offer flat rate boxes?

Very nice.  Although ascetically, I think having the stand on the back wheel would look better.

Would be really cool as a kinetic.  Maybe have a guy in the seat and a small solar motor powering the big wheel...

I was torn on the base. If I had to do it again or the next one would have a small stand (base) on the rear wheel and something tied into a small base on the front wheel. Mostly because there is not a lot of support in the frame. I would hate to see it break due to it falling or someone playing with it.
I like having things move, but sadly nothing moves on this one. People are hard for me to do. I would like to do a super hero type person. I have some ideas but it would be real time consuming. So I keep putting it off.
This on took way longer than I thought  it would. If I had to do it again it would be faster. Learning curve thing.

maybe have an arch on each side where the fork for the rear wheel meets the frame (or maybe from the rear wheel axle) - would look more like a functional stand for the bicycle

maybe use the crank wheel on the next one for the rear (so it's smaller) although in that case you'd need to use something in the center but I'm sure you could probably find a fender washer that would work with some little grinding, would make it look more like the front where the toothed ring stands for the tire.

i think it looks great, i'm sure your next one would get some improvements, easier to tell what can work better once you have one made.

That's the problem with art.  It's usually a one off and you have to decide things on the fly.  You don't really plan things out too detailed.

I don't think breaking it is a big deal.  It's not to be played with.  But having the stand on the rear wheel would give it more of the appearance that it's standing on it's own.  There would be more tension.  Will it fall over, etc...  With the big wheel up front, the stand takes a little away from it's grandness.  Or something along those lines, an art critic might say.

I agree. Less is more with the stand.
I wanted to use some 7/8 inch wrenches for the front forks but it did not pan out. I had other ideas for the rear fork, but that didn't pan out either.
